I am trying to write a poem a day. So far I’ve not kept it up, but I have written more.
Every day
I wake I pray
to navigate
the way
between the worlds.
the sunshine bright
the clouds alight
in pleats of white.
my body, close
my soul, remote
the Christ invoked
in waves of whispered yearning

This is a picture I took at the Montgomery Zoo of Amelia hanging on the monkey bars at the zoo’s playground. Using the image as muse for some language, my new favorite form of mixed media.
